Cook's Country 2006 Annual I'm relatively new to America's Test Kitchen and I try to watch them on PBS whenever possible. I was really keen to see their 2006 annual, and what a surprise I got. Not only does it have the 2006 magazine issues (starting with Feb/Mar - Dec/Jan), there are Kitchen Shortcuts, Ask Cook's Country, Recipe Makeover, and more. There are fabulous hints and tips, with helpful illustrations too. Some of the recipes I'm curious about are: Sugar-Glazed Roasted Carrots; Crispy Potato Pancakes; Fresh Tomato Sauce; Cider-Glazed Pork; Crunchy Spiced Rum Balls; Red Velvet Cake, and Beef Burgundy. There are so many things going on in this book that you'll be searching the pages in great detail. And, they cover all sorts of food which is really great for all cooks. There are also Quick Cooking recipe cards that you can tear out and keep separately in a recipe box or file. Of course, the cards are illustrated. I like the "Getting to Know Dried Beans" and "The Onion Family" pages, and I also really appreciated their Equipment Roundup pages - these really help us take the guesswork out of our shopping. I liked the herb chopping with a pizza cutter wheel!
