I agree with the first line of the Introduction: "I believe that the beauty and exquisiteness of the natural world provide the best inspiration and ideas for jewelry designs." — you can apply this philosophy to almost any craft or creative passion.  Mai Flores takes her inspiration from all around her, as do I for my photography.  Gemstones are delightful products of nature which she uses to create wearable art in the form of bracelets, necklaces, rings, and earrings.  Mai uses her wire wrapping techniques to create these works of art and guides us through the steps for beginners as well as the more experienced jewelry makers.  Mai also gives us the definition of a gem and semi-precious and precious stones and discusses the four Cs—cut, clarity, color, and carat.  People use gemstones not only for jewelry but also for connections to the earth and as "protections".  For example, Freshwater Pearls are supposed to alleviate or cure chronic headaches if worn directly on the skin," or that Citrine "is said to be beneficial to the nervous system as it combats stress and depression".  Designs in this book are named after things in nature such as Bouquet of Earrings or Flower Petal Ring, Tiny Twig Earrings or Clover Necklace, Jellyfish Earrings, Pomegranate Pulp Necklace, and Milky Way Bracelet.  In Part Four you'll find what tools you'll need and what materials are used, as well as the Basic Techniques.  My favorite designs are Sprouting Spring Necklace (I'd like it in silver) and Morning Dew Necklace.
Beautifully illustrated.  Visit Mai's website.
Conclusion - Elegant and charmingly attractive jewelry.
