I went looking for more books by John O'Hurley as soon as I'd read his first book, and found this one, published a year later. Fortunately for me I didn't have to wait a year, just a week. In this second book he tells of the lessons he learned from his dogs that he, and they, are passing along to his new son. His first child, William, came into the O'Hurleys' lives and things changed. You'd think a sixteen-year-old dog would not like the presence of someone new, cute, and cuddly, but dogs surprise us, and O'Hurley's writing will once again bring tears to your eyes. Tears of joy mostly, and if you're a dog/animal lover, especially so. Their hearts truly are in the right place. His book is written as a narration of his experiences that he plans to teach and share with William when he's older. Like fishing. Like realizing what you have and don't have in life. Like being a good and responsible person. Treating others properly. Recognizing the good in people. Living in the moment. All great advice from parent to child, and told with consummate humor, which I loved. My wish is that everyone could read the story of O'Hurley's best friend Bob. Very moving and infinitely wise. Worth a tear or three.

Conclusion - Another heartwarming book full of good advice.
