Every Second Counts
by Lance Armstrong with Sally Jenkins
Broadway Books
ISBN 0-385-50871-9
Published October 2003 - Hardcover - 246 pages

This is Lance Armstrong's second book, his biographical account of surviving cancer and winning the Tour de France five times.  Having had testicular cancer which spread to his lungs and brain, recovering, and going on to win in 1999, is remarkable in itself.  But, this courageous and defiant cyclist just went from strength to strength.  In this book he talks about battling through the 2000 Tour, his cancer foundation that supports cancer sufferers, his children, breaking his neck (yes!), and the relentless drug testing by the French authorities.  They didn't believe that he was not taking some form of drug and was hounded by the press, and others, even going so far as to rummage through his trash.  Armstrong's persistence, in everything he does, has its payoffs.  At his five-year cancer checkup he got the all-clear which paved the way for reaching new horizons.  He talks franky about his understanding of religion, his thoughts about the disease, about his growing family and their moving to Spain, and his selfless involvement with cancer patients.  Please visit the Lance Armstrong Foundation or visit Lance's website at www.lancearmstrong.com
Conclusion - Truly inspirational and encouraging.
