Your Other Left - Punch Lines from the Front Lines
by Michael Hirsh
New American Library (NAL)
ISBN 0-451-21212-6
Published May 2004 - Paperback - 136 pages - $8.00

If you're stumped for a gift for the service person in your life, you're in luck.  This little book is full of military humor that'll have you shaking with laughter.  Author Michael Hirsh's take on these jokes and one-liners is, "We were all kids who learned too young that if inappropriate laughter can help make the pain go away, it isn't inappropriate."  In any field it's good to be able to laugh at the stituation, and at yourself.  He includes the Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy and Coast Guard.  One I found "scary" was, "Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder."  I loved this one: "To all ladies: Marry an Army veteran.  He can cook.  He can make a bed.  He can sew.  And he is already used to taking orders."  Also, "War does not determine who is right, war determines who is left."
Conclusion - Not as hysterically funny as I had hoped but a good laugh nevertheless. BookBrowser
