You've got to admire Marie Osmond.  She's one gutsy lady who always steps up to the plate and gives it her all.  She's a household name; many of us grew up with her (and her family, of course), and she seems as friendly and effervescent in real life as she does on the little screen.  Her smile is enough to light up anyone's darkest days, and her laugh is from the gut and very infectious.  This book is not so much her memoirs, but rather a series of events set out randomly.  Marie starts off with her Dancing with the Stars participation, and naturally, spells out her fainting incident.  She's very much a family person and her kids are mentioned a lot.  She has a lot of them!  And it's hard to think of her as a devoted mother, especially as all we see of her is glamour, cameras, and lights.  Through her writings (and her interviews), she does come across as adoring her children and her role as their mother.  She fondly relates the life lessons she and her brothers learned from their beloved parents, although not all of the lessons she welcomed at the time.  One of the lessons her parents taught them, which I love and is how I try to be, is: "...our parents taught us that every person we meet is equal in importance in God's eyes.  It didn't matter if the person had just stepped out of a Rolls-Royce in the City of Light or a pickup at the Iowa State Fair".  A pretty good lesson.  Her large family has obviously been a huge part (and still is) of her foundation in life.  Marie also talks about her weightloss and about eating healthier than before and the difference it has made.  I truly love her fabulous sense of quick wit, and have laughed with her in many a television appearance.
Conclusion - A joyfully uplifting and moving read.
