I Feel Bad About My Neck - And Other Thoughts on Being A Woman
by Nora Ephron
Knopf
ISBN 0-307-26455-6
Published August 2006 - Hardcover - 143 pages - $19.95

Anyone who can use the words sherpa, bursitis, Louis XIV, Marxist, Cossacks (the latter three being unrelated), Kabbalah, and parables in a chapter on purses, gets my vote.  We've come to know Nora Ephron as being able to deliver humor with panache.  She's responsible for the likes of "When Harry Met Sally", "Sleepless in Seattle", "Silkwood", "Heartburn", and so many more memorable movies.  This book is about women getting older and dealing with the ramifications thereof.  Personally, I can vouch for the fact that it sucks.  Ms. Ephron ably tackles the decline of one's eyesight, maintaining hair and nails, menopause and its ugly symptoms, clothes, and children, and brings them into the spotlight with accuracy and side-splitting humor.  This personal and memoir-esque look at at her life in New York will have you the turning pages with a smile on your face.
See my review of I Remember Nothing and Other Reflections also by Ms. Ephron.
Conclusion - A great gift for any woman well on her way up the road of life.
