The Pianist - The Extraordinary True Story of One Man's Survival in Warsaw, 1939-1945
by Wladyslaw Szpilman
Picador
ISBN 0312311354
Published January 2003 - Paperback - 224 pages

The Holocaust holds so many incredible stories and this is yet another that has come to light.  In my opinion, there cannot be too many stories as we can always learn a lesson from the past.  Lest we forget, which we should never do, this is the amazing story of a Polish man who miraculously survives in the Warsaw ghetto and survives the Nazis.  It is gut-wrenching and mind-blowing, as are most of the WW2 stories in this genre, and is a surprisingly easy read.  This book was made into an Academy Award-winning movie.
Conclusion - Highly recommended.
