I love spiral-bound books.  I don't know why, I just do.  Maybe, and especially when it comes to cookbooks, they open flat, which is so much easier than perfect bound books in the kitchen.  You'll find it so much more practical.  When it comes to appetizers or finger food, tapas come to mind.  This beautiful book by Julia Hartley features an incredible array of tapas from all four corners of the globe, not just the traditional Spanish or North African nibbles.  Per the title, Julia gives recipes for parties as well as great helpful hints on how to gauge how much food you'll need, what to serve, and everything else you might need to know, and she covers Basic Recipes; Brunches; Pre-Dinner Drinks; Cocktail Parties; Late-Night Drinks; Parties & Celebrations, and Weddings.  Whether you're making food for three of four or even 24 to 36 or more, you'll find the necessary guidelines in her book.  Some of the recipes I fancy, whether I am catering or not (more likely not!), include these: Chili-Chicken Spring Rolls; Herbed Lentil Patties; Curried Mussles; Cilantro Fishcakes, and Jumbo Shrimp with Coconut-Yogurt Dip.  There are also many recipes for dessert tapas.  Of course, if you're not into fiddling around with little bite-sized goodies, use this fab book to decide with your caterer what to serve.
Illustrated.  No nutritional guides.
Conclusion - Scrumptuous.  Delicious.  Mouthwateringly tempting.
