When I opened this book to read it, I was surprised to see that it wasn't only the recipes of the Today Show foursome.  I hadn't noticed where it said "Featuring Recipes from the Hottest Chefs & Celebrities".  Also, a portion of the proceeds benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation.  Why was I surprised?  I am working on a similar cookbook to raise funds for women and children who flee abusive homes.  The difference is that I don't have the celebrity to easily attract contributors - I slog away daily, and am succeeding.  Most of the celebs featured in this book appeared on the Today Show (when Katie Couric was still there) and include the likes of: Suzanne Somers, Jacques Pépin; Cary Neff; Ina Garten; Tanya Holland; Celine Dion; Nobi Matsuhisa; Nigella Lawson, and many more.  We're treated to Simple, Healthy & Quick; Gourmet Feasts; Casual Cuisine; Family Gatherings, and Holiday Menus.  I really fancy these recipes as something different and you don't have to be really skilled to make them: Taco Salad; Blackened Shrimp with Pomegranate-Orange Salsa; Chilled Yellow Tomato Soup with Aji Amarillo; Valencia Paella with Shellfish; Grilled Eggplant with Feta, Mint, and Chili; Marinated Butternut Squash, and Maple-Glazed Bananas.  I have to say the Mexican Banana Split looks absolutely scrumptuous.  There are also Q&A's with Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Al Roker, and Ann Curry.  Illustrated.  No nutritional guides.
Conclusion - I love the fact that the buying public helps to help others and gets something for themselves (not that that should be the motivation to help others!).  Fabulous recipes.
