I love this interesting and informative series of books on great cities. Boston is a city I wished I'd had more time for. Having been around since the 1600s, Boston has a remarkable history, much of it tied up with the beginnings of the United States. In this book you'll see comparison photographs between old and new, such as the Boston Common, complete with a little history with each illustration. There is much to see and enjoy in this very walkable city, for example: Louisburg Square (gorgeous); Old City Hall; South Station; the Flour and Grain Exchange Building (enchanting and castle-like); Paul Revere House; the USS Constitution; Tremont Street, and a whole lot more to enjoy and fall in love with. Boston is also near Harvard University, M.I.T., and Bunker Hill, and is where Benjamin Franklin was born. And check out the sumptuous Longfellow House on page 137. The Freedom Trail is a wonderful walk through history, as is the Black Heritage Trail. The Boston Tea Party, Faneuil Hall, Copely Square, and Quincy Market are among many stops not to be missed. There are other books is this series, on New York, Chicago, and Washington DC.
Conclusion - A beautiful keepsake of a beautiful city.
